At Portalala, we respect your right to control your personal data. This Data Deletion Policy outlines your rights regarding data deletion and how to exercise these rights.

1. Your Right to Delete Your Data

Under various data protection laws, you have the right to request deletion of your personal data. We honor these rights regardless of your location.

You can request deletion of:

  • Your entire Portalala account and all associated data
  • Specific property listings you created
  • Your profile information
  • Communication history

2. How to Request Data Deletion

2.1 Self-Service Account Deletion

The fastest way to delete your account:

  1. Open the Portalala app
  2. Navigate to Settings → Account
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account
  4. Read the deletion warning carefully
  5. Confirm your decision
  6. Your account will be immediately deactivated and queued for deletion

2.2 Email Request

Send a deletion request to: privacy@portalala.com

Include:

  • Subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
  • Your registered email address
  • Full name associated with the account
  • Specific data to delete (or "all data")

3. What Data Will Be Deleted

3.1 Immediately Deleted

  • Account Credentials: Email, password, security tokens
  • Profile Information: Name, photo, bio, preferences
  • Contact Details: Phone number, email
  • Property Listings: All listings you created
  • Communication: Messages, comments, reviews
  • Media Files: Photos and videos
  • Location Data: Saved searches and location preferences

3.2 Deleted Within 30 Days

  • Backup Copies: Data in automated backup systems
  • Cached Data: Temporary files and caches
  • Log Files: Server logs containing personal identifiers

4. Data We May Retain

Certain information may be retained for legal and business purposes:

4.1 Legal Obligations

  • Financial Records: Transaction history for 7 years
  • Legal Claims: Data relevant to legal proceedings
  • Fraud Prevention: Hashed email to prevent fraudulent re-registration

4.2 Anonymized Data

  • Aggregated Statistics: Non-identifiable usage statistics
  • Market Trends: Anonymized real estate market data

5. Consequences of Account Deletion

⚠️ WARNING: Account deletion is permanent and irreversible

5.1 Immediate Effects

  • You will be logged out of all devices
  • Your profile will no longer be visible
  • All your property listings will be removed
  • You cannot access past messages or data

5.2 Lost Data

  • Property History: All listings you created
  • Saved Properties: Bookmarks and favorites
  • Communication: All messages permanently removed
  • Reviews: Any reviews you posted

6. Alternatives to Full Deletion

Before deleting your account, consider:

  • Temporarily hide your profile
  • Pause notifications
  • Retain your data for future reactivation

6.2 Selective Deletion

  • Delete specific property listings
  • Remove individual messages
  • Clear search history only

7. Data Portability

Before deleting your account, you can download your data:

  1. Go to Settings → Privacy → Download My Data
  2. Select data categories to export
  3. Choose format (JSON or CSV)
  4. Receive download link via email
